Job summary

Volunteers of America Northern Rockies is seeking a Staff Accountant in Sheridan, WY to handle general accounting, budgeting, grant accounting, and financial analysis under the Finance department. You will work closely with the Controller and the finance team to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with GAAP and grant requirements.

Responsibilities include balance sheet reconciliations, dashboard reporting in Sage Intacct, and coordinating allocations for audits and donor contracts.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree and two to three years of accounting experience, or eight to ten years of experience in the accounting field, or any similar combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs assigned accounting and analytic responsibilities in the finance department, including general accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
• Maintains reconciliation and analysis of balance sheet accounts such as cash, loans, prepaid, and fixed assets.
• Ensures GAAP compliance and supports audits, grant administration, and reporting.
• Maintains and creates financial dashboards and allocates expenses by department and project codes.
• Supports staff compensation and benefit allocations in line with grants and budgets.

Education

Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
