Job summary

Global Ground Support, based in Olathe, KS, seeks a Staff Accountant to support month-end close, financial statements, and GAAP compliance. This role assists the Controller and VP Finance & Accounting and serves as backup to accounts payable, contributing to financial operations and cost analysis.

The successful candidate will maintain GL reconciliations, process AR, monitor inventory data, prepare journal entries, and assist with tax schedules while upholding internal controls and SOX

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field is required.
• Demonstrated success in accounting, preferably in a small to mid-size manufacturing company.
• Experience with general ledger reconciliation and financial statement analysis.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and issue accurate customer invoices based on shipment docs, sales orders, and contracts.
• Process and apply customer payments daily while maintaining AR records.
• Monitor customer accounts and follow up on past-due balances.
• Analyze and track manufacturing and operating costs (labor, materials, overhead, production expenses).
• Perform account reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Prepare journal entries for financial reporting.
• Assist with income tax support schedules and regulatory filings.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and internal controls; support inventory activities.
