Job summary

Global Ground Support is seeking a Staff Accountant in Olathe, KS to reconcile accounts, maintain financial records, and support the Controller and VP Finance in key processes. This role will back up accounts payable and collaborate with operations on inventory and cost analyses.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in accounting, advanced Excel skills, GAAP knowledge, and experience with GL reconciliations and financial statements. We offer competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
Experience in accounting, preferably in a small to mid-size manufacturing company.
Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency including macros, VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables and data analysis.
Strong technical accounting knowledge, including GAAP.
Experience with general ledger reconciliation.
Experience in preparing and analyzing financial statements and reports.
Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements a plus.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
Knowledge of budgeting processes and financial analysis techniques.
Experience with monitoring and analyzing inventory data.
Aptitude and experience in ERP and fixed assets software.

Responsibilities

Prepare and issue accurate customer invoices based on shipment documentation, sales orders, and contractual terms.
Process and apply customer payments daily while maintaining accurate accounts receivable records.
Monitor customer accounts, investigate payment discrepancies, and follow up on past-due balances.
Analyze and track manufacturing and operational costs, including labor, materials, overhead, and production expenses.
Perform account reconciliations and investigate and resolve variances or discrepancies.
Prepare journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Assist with inventory audits, cycle counts, and related reconciliations.
Assist with the preparation of income tax support schedules and other regulatory filings.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls.
