Job summary

Medical Associates seeks a Staff Accountant to join our Finance team in Dubuque, IA. This role emphasizes accuracy, Excel proficiency, and timeliness in managing the general ledger and financial statements.

You will handle month-end close, budget variances, and audits while collaborating with a team to deliver reliable financial data and supporting schedules for internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• One to three years of related accounting experience.
• Bachelor's or equivalent in Accounting.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger for all applicable entities.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and related schedules.
• Review and analyze all general ledger accounts for monthly and year-end closing.
• Review and analyze monthly budget variances and assist in the preparation of the annual budget.
• Maintain relevant statistical data used in analyzing trends and financial performance.
• Assist in the preparation of workpapers and schedules required for annual financial statement audits.
• Calculate simple physician and advanced practice provider compensation agreements.
• Assist with compiling information for survey submissions to regional and national associations in areas of compensation and productivity, revenue and expense.
• Complete all other assigned projects and duties.
