Job summary

Major Tool & Machine in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Staff Accountant to perform essential accounting tasks across AP, expense reporting, and cash transactions. You will support month-end close, ensure GAAP compliance, and assist with audits while maintaining strong controls.

The role requires 0–3 years of accounting experience, a Bachelor's in Accounting or related field, and advanced Excel skills; CPA or MBA is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or MBA is a plus.
• 0–3 years' accounting and finance experience; GAAP knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable: process invoices, validate PO and coding, ensure timely payments.
• Expense Reports: review/approve, process payments, record to GL.
• Cash Transactions: record daily cash, deposits, reconcile cash GL accounts.
• Other duties: assist AR/Payroll, month-end tasks, audits support.
