Job summary

Major Tool is seeking a Staff Accountant in Indianapolis to handle daily accounting tasks including AP, expense reporting, and cash postings. The role reports to the Director of Finance and requires 0–3 years of accounting experience along with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

The candidate will support month-end duties, assist with audits, and help ensure GAAP compliance while contributing to Lean and 5S initiatives within a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related field; CPA or MBA a plus.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, advanced Excel, and general ledgers.

Responsibilities

• Manage Accounts Payable and ensure valid billing sources.
• Process expense reports and record transactions to GL accounts.
• Record cash transactions and apply customer payments.
• Support month-end close and audit readiness; back up AR/AP/Payroll as needed.
• Collaborate with internal teams to standardize processes and controls.
