Job summary

Orly-Corp. is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Finance team in New York. Reporting to the Controller, you will ensure the accuracy of financial records while supporting the month-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting, and audits.

This role offers exposure to a growing consumer products business, cross-functional collaboration, and opportunities to improve processes and controls in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Strong Excel and ERP skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience supporting month-end close and general ledger accounting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and accounting systems.
• Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
• Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience within consumer products, wholesale, apparel or licensing industries.
• Experience supporting external audits.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities
• Prepare and post journal entries
• Perform bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
• Prepare financial schedules and supporting documentation for reporting and audits
• Analyze account activity and investigate variances and discrepancies
• Assist with inventory and operational accounting reconciliations
• Partner with Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Chargebacks teams to ensure financial accuracy
• Support internal controls, process improvements, and documentation initiatives
• Assist with special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as needed
