Job summary

HJD Capital Electric, Inc. in San Antonio, TX, seeks a Staff Accountant to maintain financial data integrity and execute reporting and reconciliations with the accounting team.

The role focuses on month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, job costing for construction projects, and supporting audits, with emphasis on accuracy, confidentiality, and process improvements. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in accounting, a Bachelor's in Accounting or related field, and experience with Sage 100

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience in public or corporate settings.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• Experience with Sage 100 Contractor is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain schedules for debt, depreciation, and balance sheet accounts.
• Perform daily and monthly general ledger activities.
• Prepare and reconcile bank, credit card, and other accounts.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Post journal entries and maintain documentation.
• Review transactions for accuracy and proper coding.
• Assist with monthly financial statements and cash management.
• Monitor accounts receivable and payable activity.
• Assist with job costing and project cost reviews.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and audits.
