Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking a Staff Accountant to join the Engineering team in the Baskin Ridge, NJ area. This full-time role supports monthly close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting across project-based accounting.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with IT proficiency, including Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
• General accounting experience
• Strong understanding of journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to prioritize responsibilities, meet deadlines, and work independently
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities
• Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
• Analyze general ledger activity and research discrepancies
• Assist with financial statements and management reporting
• Monitor cash balances and assist with cash forecasting
• Support audits, tax filings, and other financial reporting requirements
• Maintain accounting procedures and internal controls
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies
• Assist with special projects and other team priorities as needed
