Job summary

The University of St. Thomas is seeking a Staff Accountant in the Controller's Office to manage reconciliations, record investments, and oversee fixed assets. The role requires working with journal entries, budget inquiries, and coordinating with student-government accounts.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and at least two years of professional accounting experience. Commitment to the university’s mission and adherence to background screening are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is required.
• Two years of professional accounting experience required.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile the University's depository and checking accounts; record investment transactions; manage fixed assets; approve journal vouchers on a rotating basis; answer departmental inquiries regarding budgets and accounts.
• Serve as contact for student organizations and USG accounts; assist Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, and Controller with special projects.
• Prepare audit schedules and schedules; participate in month-end close and reporting processes; support capital project accounting and asset management.
