Job summary

Foley is seeking a Staff Accountant to support and strengthen our accounting operations from our Boston office. You will report to the Corporate Controller, assist with core close activities, build strong reconciliations, and help scale the accounting team in a high-volume environment.

You will work on core accounting operations, data analysis, and reporting while leveraging AI and other tools to improve processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 1–2 years of accounting experience, including internships.
• Solid understanding of GAAP fundamentals.
• Proficiency in Excel (formulas, pivot tables, basic data analysis).
• Clear communication and cross-team collaboration.
• Proactive mindset with strong follow-through.

Responsibilities

• Play an important role in month-end close processes, including preparing journal entries and analyzing account activity.
• Perform monthly cash reconciliations and account reconciliations.
• Assist with revenue recognition and deferred revenue accounting under guidance from senior team members.
• Support audits by maintaining accurate and organized documentation and analysis.
• Leverage AI and other tools to continuously improve accounting processes.
• Suggest and implement improvements to internal controls and documentation.
• Contribute to a reliable, high-quality operating rhythm on the accounting team.
• Analyze data and enhance reporting to support business decision making.
• Partner with teammates to ensure information is accurate and complete.
