Job summary

OrthoLA is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the Financial Controller and help maintain accurate financial records across the practice. You will work closely with management, front-desk staff, payroll, and departments to ensure proper flow of financial information.

The role emphasizes month-to-month processes, strict documentation, and adherence to internal controls in a busy in-person setting. Candidates should have related education and experience, with QuickBooks Online being a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• Work experience may be substituted for formal education.
• Experience with accounting software, especially QuickBooks Online, is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain daily accounting operations and month-to-month processes.
• Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable records.
• Process invoices with proper coding before payment.
• Prepare bank deposits for payments received by mail.
• Review daily closeout journal for all locations and reconcile.
• Reconcile bank activity and investigate discrepancies.
• Support payroll processing and serve as backup for biweekly payroll.
• Assist with financial statements and management reports.
• Assist with implementing and monitoring financial policies.
• Protect confidential financial, employee, patient, and business information.
• Report errors or control weaknesses to the Financial Controller.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
