Job summary

Mazzola & Company Inc is hiring a Staff Accountant to join our growing public accounting team. This role suits someone with 3–5 years of experience, who enjoys working directly with clients and wants a long-term career in accounting.

You will prepare tax returns, perform reconciliations, review bookkeeping, and assist with month-end close, while collaborating with clients and team members in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• 3–5 years public accounting or related experience.
• CPA or EA certification preferred or pursuing.
• Strong understanding of debits and credits.
• Experience with reconciliations and month-end close.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare individual and business tax returns.
• Perform account reconciliations and assist with month-end close.
• Review bookkeeping for accuracy and proper coding.
• Analyze financial data, including revenue recognition.
• Prepare sales tax returns.
• Support payroll processing.
• Communicate with clients to gather information and resolve issues.
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies.
