Job summary

Preferred candidates have a Bachelor's in accounting/finance, 1+ year of experience, strong Excel skills, and knowledge of GAAP/GAAS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (with a minimum 18 hours of Accounting) and 1+ year of professional accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, GAAS and financial reporting requirements.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines, with extended hours during close and key reporting deadlines.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills to identify issues and address them.
• Excellent communication skills to present financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders and accounting management.
• Independent self-starter with a growth mindset to drive digital transformation and improve processes.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily cash accounting activities, including recording, reconciling, and monitoring cash transactions across multiple bank accounts.
• Month-end bank reconciliation processes and timely resolution of outstanding items.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within SAP, especially Electronic Bank Statement processing.
• Conduct research and analysis of cash-related transactions and accounting issues, providing recommendations.
• Prepare cash-related analyses and other outlooks during close cycles to support management reporting.
• Perform in-depth variance analysis for financial statements.
• Support internal and external audits and tax reporting.
• Evaluate accuracy of accounting data and effectiveness of controls; recommend improvements.
• Develop and implement accounting practices to promote consistency and efficiency.
• Ensure transactions comply with GAAP, SOX, and internal controls.

Essential Job Duties:

This position is a trusted member in the group and requires a business‑curious mindset. It allows the candidate to support timely financial reporting, continuous process improvement and documentation.

• Manage daily cash accounting activities, including recording, reconciling, and monitoring cash transactions across multiple bank accounts.
• Month‑end bank reconciliation processes, ensuring timely resolution of outstanding items and accurate financial reporting.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within SAP, particularly the Electronic Bank Statement process, to increase automation and reduce manual effort.
• Conduct research and analysis of cash-related transactions and accounting issues, providing recommendations and solutions to stakeholders.
• Prepare cash-related analyses and other outlooks during close cycles to support management reporting and decision‑making.
• Perform in‑depth variance analysis for financial statements.
• Provide support for internal audits, external audits, government and tax reporting.
• Evaluate the accuracy and reliability of accounting data, effectiveness of existing accounting procedures and controls, and make recommendations for improvement.
• Develop, recommend, and implement accounting practices to promote consistency, application of best practices, task automation, and efficiencies.
• Ensure transactions are properly supported, and are in accordance with GAAP, SOX, internal controls and other regulatory requirements.
• Ad‑hoc reporting, and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (with a minimum 18 hours of Accounting) 1+ year of professional accounting experience; recent college graduates with relevant internship experience are encouraged to apply.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, GAAS and financial reporting requirements.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines with the ability to work extended hours during close and key reporting deadlines.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills to identify issues and deal with them directly.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non‑finance stakeholders and accounting management.

Additional Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with cash accounting transactions and bank reconciliations.
• Experience with large ERP systems (SAP S/4 Hana preferred).
• Public accounting experience preferred, Experience in a Sox‑compliant environment.
• MBA, CPA or CPA eligibility preferred.
• Ability to adapt quickly and maintain flexibility with regards to ad‑hoc project, and areas of responsibility.
• Experience using OneStream or similar corporate consolidation reporting system.
• Experience with IBM Planning Analytics (preferred), SQL, Tableau, Power BI or similar BI/data tool.
