Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Accounting and Finance team in New York. This role handles month-end close, journal entries, AP/AR, and GL management to ensure accurate financials.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting or related field, strong MS Excel skills, and sharp attention to detail. You will contribute to internal controls and financial reporting within a collaborative, growth-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• Strong MS Excel and analytical abilities.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate financial matters clearly to management.
• Familiarity with GAAP and month-end close processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping including AP, AR, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.
• Conduct month-end and year-end close process.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP principles.
• Liaise with Tax Accountant, Auditor, and other external parties as necessary.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts; review inputs and prepare monthly reports and journal entries.
• Maintain and update accounting records and files.
• Analyze budgets and create expense reports.
• Examine tax policies and handle tax payments and returns.
• Meet financial accounting objectives.
• Contribute to development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections.
