Job summary

Coda Search has partnered with an internationally respected asset management firm that is looking to bring on a Staff Accountant in New York, New York. This role sits within the corporate accounting team and reports to the Assistant Controller, contributing to the monthly close, generating financial statements, maintaining the general ledger, and supporting the year-end audit.

The candidate will also participate in cash management activities and serve as a key partner to the Assistant

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum of two years of accounting experience
• Experience in asset management or financial services is advantageous
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the monthly close by preparing balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and adjusting entries
• Maintain the general ledger and reconcile accounts
• Handle end-to-end accounts payable, coding and processing more than 50 invoices each week
• Oversee all incoming cash receipts and bank deposits
• Compile schedules and workpapers supporting balance sheet accounts
• Maintain a group of vendor accounts and confirm that vendor records are accurate
• Support the year-end audit by compiling the necessary documentation
