Job summary

Coda Search│Staffing is partnering with a Brooklyn-based consumer goods company to hire an accounting professional who will lead the monthly close and manage balance sheet and income statement accounts. You will drive process improvements, perform variance analysis, and coordinate intercompany activity in a fast-growing environment.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, at least three years of accounting experience, and proficiency in advanced Excel.

Qualifications

• Lead monthly close including reconciliations of balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• Review financial statements and provide variance analysis with explanations.
• Oversee general ledger reconciliations and journal entries.
• Coordinate intercompany activity and cost of goods sold analysis.
• Assist with external audit preparations and schedules.

Responsibilities

Coda Search has partnered with a Series C consumer goods company based in Brooklyn, New York. The organization has quickly broadened its footprint throughout the United States and continues to expand across numerous locations. As a member of a five-person accounting team, this individual will play a central role in leading the monthly close, managing intercompany activity, refining processes, and driving efficiencies throughout the organization. Because an external accounting partner handles certain cash management responsibilities, this position will concentrate on balance sheet and income statement accounts.

What You’ll Do:

• Support and lead the monthly close, including reconciliations of balance sheet and income statement accounts
• Review financial statements and conduct variance analysis accompanied by explanatory commentary
• Oversee general ledger reconciliations and record journal entries
• Record and reconcile intercompany activity among the company’s entities
• Prepare and evaluate cost of goods sold and associated expenses
• Facilitate accounting integration as the company opens new locations

Who You Are:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum of three years of accounting experience (background in consumer goods, CPG, or a high-growth startup is advantageous)
• Proficiency in advanced Excel functions (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
• Experience with NetSuite is highly desirable
• Strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a results-driven mindset
