Job summary

Equus Workforce Solutions is seeking an entry-level to junior Accountant in Houston to support day-to-day accounting functions and assist in month-end close. You will perform reconciliations, prepare journal entries, and assist with audit schedules, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in Accounting and 1–2 years of accounting experience, with strong Excel skills and familiarity with Oracle systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required.
• 1–2 years accounting experience preferred.
• Strong Excel and accounting systems knowledge.
• Knowledge of Oracle preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs account reconciliations, trend analysis, and analyzes for completeness.
• Researches information requests and responds to issues involving general ledger accounts.
• Reconcile corporate balance sheet accounts and perform analytical reviews of monthly activity.
• Assist in the preparation of corporate schedules for annual audit performed by external auditors.
• Prepares journal entries, generates reports, and participates in related monthly accounting activities to ensure timely ledger close.
• Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.
• Assists in special projects, as assigned.
