Job summary

Vaco by Highspring in Waukesha, WI is seeking a Staff Accountant to help maintain financial records, support the month-end close, and perform essential reconciliations. You will prepare and post journal entries, maintain the general ledger, and assist with bank reconciliations and account variances.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance, has strong Excel and ERP experience (SAP), and can work independently while managing multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and month-end adjustments.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
• Analyze financial transactions and investigate account variances.
• Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations, ensuring company bank accounts are accurately reconciled to the general ledger.
• Identify, research, and resolve reconciling items, outstanding checks, banking discrepancies, and other account variances.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, including: Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Prepaid Expenses, Accrued Liabilities, Other assigned accounts.
• Assist with financial reporting and supporting documentation.
• Work cross-functionally to gather information and resolve accounting-related issues.
• Contribute to process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
• Support additional accounting and finance projects as needed.

Our client is seeking a highly motivated Staff Accountant to join their team and play a key role in maintaining the integrity of financial records, supporting the month-end close process, and performing critical bank and account reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and month-end adjustments.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Experience working within SAP or a similar ERP system.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
