Job summary

City of Wasco in California is seeking a skilled accounting professional to support public sector financial reporting, budgeting, and audits. The role covers fund accounting, accounts payable and receivable, grant management, and coordination of state and federal reimbursements.

You will report to the City Treasurer, work with multiple departments, and ensure accurate financial records and timely reporting.

Qualifications

Perform a variety of professional accounting work related to the preparation and maintenance of public sector accounting and financial reporting records, financial functions related to budget and annual audits. The position requires knowledge of fund accounting, independent judgment and decision-making skills. Duties will include accounts payable and receivable functions, construction project accounting, grant management as well as submission of state and federal fund reimbursement requests. Duties include oversight of basic daily accounting functions, maintaining financial records and coordinating quarterly water, sewer utility billing. Responsible for providing financial information to the City Treasurer, departments, grant managers/writer, board and committee members. and other related duties as assigned within the scope of the classification level.
