Job summary

Flywheel, part of Omnicom, is seeking a Financial Reporting professional to support the close and reporting processes. You will handle general ledger accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, payroll accounting, intercompany activities, and cash management while driving process improvements. Requirements include a Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance, 2+ years of accounting experience, strong U.S.

GAAP knowledge, and Excel proficiency. SAP and CPA preferred. This role is based in the U.S.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP.
  • Experience with general ledger accounting and month-end close.
  • Proficiency in Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, SUMIFS).
  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
  • Experience with SAP preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare recurring and general month-end journal entries with proper support; ensure accuracy and timely submission within tight close timelines.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly; maintain audit-ready documentation and resolve reconciling items.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes.
  • Analyze general ledger activity to identify unusual transactions, trends, and variances.
  • Prepare accruals, prepaid expenses, deferred revenue, and fixed asset entries and reconciliations.
  • Assist with payroll accounting and related reconciliations.
  • Support intercompany accounting activities, including reconciliations and settlements.
  • Assist with cash postings, bank reconciliations, and cash account analysis.
  • Prepare supporting schedules for financial reporting and management requests.
  • Support external audits and SOX compliance by preparing schedules and responding to requests.

The Opportunity

Join the Financial Reporting team and play a key role in supporting the company's financial close and reporting process. This position provides exposure to a broad range of accounting responsibilities, including general ledger accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, payroll accounting, intercompany transactions, cash management, and audit support. You'll partner with cross‑functional teams to help ensure accurate financial reporting while contributing to process improvements and maintaining a strong control environment.

What You Will Do:
  • Prepare recurring and general month‑end journal entries with proper support; ensure accuracy and timely submission within tight close timelines.
  • Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts monthly, maintain audit‑ready documentation, and promptly resolve reconciling items.
  • Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and year‑end financial close process.

  • Assist with payroll accounting and related reconciliations, including reconciliation of payroll schedules and related balance sheet accounts.
  • Support intercompany accounting activities, including reconciliations, settlements, and billing requests.
  • Assist with cash postings, bank reconciliations, and cash account analysis.
  • Prepare supporting schedules for financial reporting and management requests.
  • Support external financial statement audits, internal audits, and SOX compliance activities by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor requests.
  • Ensure all accounting records are complete, accurate, and maintained in accordance with company policies and U.S. GAAP.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and implement efficiencies.
  • Support special projects, system implementations, and ad hoc financial analyses as assigned.
Who You Are:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 2+ years of accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP.
  • Experience with general ledger accounting and month‑end close.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, etc.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
  • Experience with SAP preferred.
