Marathon Health is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the close process, financial reporting, compliance, and maintaining strong internal controls in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in accounting with 1–2 years of public or corporate accounting experience; CPA or CPA-eligible preferred. Experience with month-end close, GAAP, and Sarbanes-Oxley is desired, along with NetSuite and advanced Excel skills.

About The Job

The Staff Accountant is a team player who is comfortable working in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment and desires to develop professionally as the team and the company grow. The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the company's close process, financial reporting, compliance and maintaining strong internal controls.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist with the month-end financial statement close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Own key areas of the close process, including month-end accruals, cash, prepaids and other areas of accounting as assigned.
• Assist with preparing schedules for and responding to requests of the external auditors.
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities to expedite close and strengthen internal controls.
• Assist with special projects and ad-hoc analysis as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting plus 1-2 years of experience in public and/or corporate accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience. CPA or CPA eligible preferred. Experience with month-end close and financial reporting. Must possess knowledge of accounting principles, including GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley.

Pay Range: $65,000 - $85,000/yr

The actual offer may vary dependent upon geographic location and the candidate's years of experience and/or skill level.
