Marathon Health is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the close process, financial reporting, and internal controls in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment. You will own areas of the month-end close and assist auditors, driving efficiency and accuracy.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in accounting with 1–2 years of experience, CPA eligible preferred, and strong GAAP/SOX knowledge. NetSuite and advanced Excel skills are a plus.

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the company’s close process, financial reporting, compliance and maintaining strong internal controls.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESAssist with the month-end financial statement close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.Own key areas of the close process, including month-end accruals, cash, prepaids and other areas of accounting as assigned.Assist with preparing schedules for and responding to requests of the external auditors.Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities to expedite close and strengthen internal controls.Assist with special projects and ad-hoc analysis as needed.QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in accounting plus 1-2 years of experience in public and/or corporate accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience. CPA or CPA eligible preferred. Experience with month-end close and financial reporting.
