Job summary

PACS Group in Salt Lake City is seeking an experienced Accountant to manage month-end close, maintain general ledger records, and oversee balance sheet reconciliations in a hybrid setting at our downtown Salt Lake City office.

You will prepare and substantiate journal entries, perform variance analyses, and ensure timely delivery of financials to leadership while collaborating with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 3+ years in related experience or equivalency.
• Thorough understanding of general ledger accounting practices, cost analysis and accounting principles; strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.
• Hybrid role with 3 days in PACS Downtown Salt Lake City office.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accruals schedule; identify missing invoices, perform monthly cut-off accruals, accrue for utility usage, etc.

Job description

General Purpose

Accountants perform month-end close procedures, ensuring accurate and complete financial statements, prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, support various audit requirements, and communicate variances and trends with operations and leadership to drive satisfactory accounting results.

Essential Duties

• Work directly with accounts payable, accounts receivable, operations, payroll, and other supporting departments.
• Maintain general ledger accounting records. Prepare and substantiate journal entries.
• Maintain balance sheet reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, fixed asset schedules, etc.
• Perform month-over-month income statement variance analyses and deliver results to operations and leadership.
• Ability to maintain timely delivery of financials to leadership each month.
• Maintain accruals schedule; identify missing invoices, perform monthly cut-off accruals, accrue for utility usage, etc.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualification Requirements ( Education and/or Experience)

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 3+ years in related experience or equivalency preferred.
• Offer of employment are contingent on the successful completion of a pre-employment background screening, and proof of documentation to verify legal work eligibility.
• A thorough understanding of general ledger accounting practices, cost analysis and accounting principles, as well as demonstrated analytical, problem solving, human relations and effective communication skills also required.
• This is a hybrid role with 3 days in PACS Downtown Salt Lake City office required.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Programs.

Physical Demands

Prolonged periods of sitting, working at a computer, and performing detailed financial and accounting tasks requiring sustained concentration and attention to detail.

Ability to operate computers and other standard office equipment.

Ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, video conference, and electronic communication platforms with employees, leadership, auditors, and external business partners.

Occasional standing, walking, bending, reaching, stooping, and lifting or carrying office materials and equipment weighing up to 20 pounds.

Ability to travel occasionally to corporate offices, facilities, training events, audits, meetings, or other business-related locations as needed.

Location

This position is hybrid (approximately 3 days per week) in our downtown Salt Lake City, UT office.
