Job summary

ABM Industries Inc. is seeking an accounting professional to support general accounting processes within the Enterprise Service Center.

The role emphasizes accuracy in cash, bank, accounts payable, prepaid expenses, commissions and other general expenses, while upholding internal controls and safeguarding assets. You will coordinate with Accounting Managers and internal stakeholders, ensure tools are available, complete required training by deadlines, and contribute to process improvements and

• Handle cash, bank reconciliations, accounts payable, prepaid expenses, commissions and other general expenses accounting records.
• Ensure internal controls are followed and assets safeguarded.
• Coordinate with Accounting Managers and internal stakeholders to ensure processes and tools are available and functional.
• Facilitate timely accounting training and monitor benchmarks; identify and escalate process improvements.

Job description

This position is responsible for performing accounting processes related to general accounting (expenses and balance sheet) within the Enterprise Service Center (ESC). This position supports a team in their interactions with Accounting Managers and internal stakeholders; ensures that software and other tools are available and functional to efficiently and effectively process accounting tasks; ensures that process flows and accountabilities executed and followed to maintain strong internal controls and safeguard the assets of ABM Industries; manages the processing of cash, bank, accounts payable, prepaid expenses, commissions and other general expenses accounting records related records; ensures that appropriate accounting related training is completed within deadlines; ensures that appropriate benchmarks are monitored against processes and systems; and escalates process improvements supporting management efforts.
