Job summary

The Salvation Army Midland Division Headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri, is seeking a Staff Accountant to perform full charge bookkeeping for multiple centers at the Regional Accounting Center.

This is a full-time exempt role, 40 hours per week, with a starting salary of $62,000 per year. Located at 1130 Hampton Ave, St. Louis, MO 63139, the division offers a collaborative accounting environment and opportunities to support mission-critical operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/related field required.
• Two (2) years accounting/related field work experience required or combination of education and experience considered.
• Fluent in computer use with experience in spreadsheet, word processing and computerized accounting systems.
• Must demonstrate ability to think independently and exercise sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Review accounts payable and receipting entries completed by Specialists.
• Process, code and record complex invoices and reimbursement requests.
• File monthly sales tax returns for units as required.
• Prepare and input journal entries following established accounting procedures.
• Perform bank account reconciliations for non-assigned locations.
• Review ledgers associated with related funds and accounts.

Minimum Qualifications

Physical and Working Conditions

Must be capable of performing the above essential duties in an office environment to include using a computer, answering phones, etc. Most work will be indoors in a temperature-controlled environment.
