Paycom - ATS is seeking a Staff Accountant to help maintain GAAP-compliant financial processes and support a upcoming ERP implementation. You will assist the Controller and lead month-end close tasks while ensuring accurate reporting.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s in Accounting, 3+ years in accounting and ERP experience; CPA or public audit exposure is highly preferred. Position based in Spring, TX with standard full-time hours.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 3+ years of accounting experience; 5+ years in accounting management preferred.
  • Experience with ERP programs and external audits is highly desirable.
  • CPA and/or public audit support experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure GAAP compliance and accurate financial reporting.
  • Assist with monthly and annual close processes and ERP implementation.
  • Support Controller in directing accounting functions and controls.
  • Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports including cash flow and payroll reports.
  • Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors.
  • Reconcile accounts and analyze financial data; ensure data integrity.
  • Assist with ad hoc reporting and special projects as needed.

Job Details: Job Location: HQ TX - Spring, TX, Salary Range: Undisclosed

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Staff Accountant is responsible for contributing to keeping the accounting and financial processes of the company up to standard and ensure accurate financial reporting and control.

  • Ensure financial records and systems are maintained in accordance with GAAP
  • Act as integral part of upcoming ERP system implementation
  • Assist Controller in the direction of the accounting functions in the organization
  • Assist with monthly and annual close process
  • Manage fixed asset register and depreciation schedules
  • Prepare and process detailed financial reporting such as, but not limited, to cash flow statements, payroll reports)
  • Coordinate financial audits with Controller & Sr VP and liaison with independent auditors
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and in-house standards and best practices
  • Conduct account reconciliations and analysis
  • Reconcile Federal (941)/State quarterly returns to payroll reports
  • Liaison with field operations as needed to maintain data accuracy and integrity
  • Assist with Ad hoc reporting and projects as needed
Qualifications: Education, Training and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field from an accredited college or university, and minimum five (5+) years of Accounting management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of three (3+) years of experience in Accounting.
  • Minimum of three (3+) years of experience with ERP programs.
  • CPA and /or public audit support experience strongly preferred
  • Experience working with executive level management in an oil and gas service, engineering, and/or manufacturing environment would be preferred

  • Must have flexibility of working extended hours as needed, and the ability to work independently.
  • In addition to independent qualities, the ability to work well as part of a team is vital.
PHYSICAL, TRAVEL, AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be willing and able to work 8 hours or as necessary to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Must be able to work on various projects under pressure.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to hear and communicate without hindrance and is regularly required to use hands to hold, handle or feel; reach with hand and arms, talk or hear.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasional overnight travel.
