Job summary

Segrera Associates is recruiting a Staff Accountant for a well-established organization in the Sarasota, FL area. This on-site role offers broad exposure across the accounting function and opportunities to work closely with accounting and finance leadership.

Responsibilities include journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close, fixed assets, and collaborating on reporting and process improvements. Local candidates or willingness to relocate are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with an Accounting/Finance concentration.
• 1–3+ years of Staff Accountant or general accounting experience.
• Healthcare industry experience is a plus, but not required for candidates with strong general accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with accounting/ERP systems.
• Analytical and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
• Collaborative team player with strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and other general ledger activity.
• Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations, research discrepancies, and ensure accurate financial records.
• Support month-end close and recurring financial reporting activities.
• Assist with fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and other general accounting responsibilities.
• Review account activity and help identify and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Support accounts payable and other transactional accounting processes as needed.
• Partner with accounting leadership on reporting, special projects, and process improvements.
• Maintain accurate supporting documentation and ensure transactions are properly recorded.

Our client is looking to add a motivated accounting professional to its growing team. This position offers broad exposure across the accounting function and the opportunity to work closely with experienced accounting and finance leadership.

This role is fully on-site in Sarasota, FL. Candidates must be local to the region or willing to relocate.

Key Responsibilities:
