Job description

Staff Accountant - Generations Healthcare - $70,000.00 / $80,000.00 (Remote/Hybrid - Must be located in Southern CA)
Position Overview:
Under general supervision, performs both simple & complex accounting functions and analysis. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: Assisting in licenses & permits, fixed asset processes, monthly financial review & reporting compilation, policies & procedures, and ensuring compliance while providing exceptional levels of service to company operations and internal Support Center team members.

Essential Functions (may include, but are not limited to):
  • Assists with month-end close including posting of JE’s and financial statement review.
  • Performs monthly analysis on various revenue and expense accounts and research variances.
  • Completes monthly account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts.
  • Ensures company is compliant with facility business licenses & permits, use tax, and unclaimed property, including timely filings.
  • Fixed Asset accounting - including review of weekly FAS postings, JEs, monthly reporting, management and coordination of expenditure requests, and fixed asset reconciliations.
  • Assists with annual filing of 571-L Business Property Tax Statements.
  • Assists with annual budget.
  • Completes bank account reconciliations.
  • Assists with on-going-compliance audits and Y/E financial audits. Creates year-end audit schedules.
  • Interacts with administrators and business office managers of facilities, researching and responding to financial statement questions.
  • Completes monthly reporting and other analyses as assigned.
  • Assists with on-going projects as assigned by the Controller and/or Accounting Supervisors.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong computer skills—specifically Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • NetSuite/Net Solutions experience preferred.
  • Broad understanding of financial accounting and internal control procedures.
  • Familiar with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, work efficiently and meet deadlines.
  • Team player.
Education, Experience and Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related fields.
  • Two to five years of related experience in accounting.
  • Experience in healthcare accounting helpful, but not required.
  • This position requires the successful completion of a background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screening as part of the hiring process.
