Job summary

Job description

Overview

Position supports financial accounting and analysis for Value Added Sales and Marketing, for contracted funding and other programs. Responsible for independently performing both routine and non‑routine accounting and financial reporting functions for ogC and subsidiary entities.

Major Responsibilities and Tasks/Duties of the Position
  • Complete and enter journal entries and reconcile G/L accounts as part of the close process and perform other monthly close tasks as assigned.
  • Provide analysis and participate in the forecasting process each period as assigned.
  • Manage the verification and clearing of all billback ad claims and payables, requiring verification of valid invoices and proper signature authorization as assigned.
  • Manage the maintenance of all Value Added broker information, as well as VA markets, divisions, regions and item groups. Responsible for managing all customer and broker commission rates in the Mainframe system as assigned.
  • Responsible for the analysis and preparation of Value Added brokerage commission payments each financial period as assigned.
  • Assist and support Sales and Marketing in the execution of rebate programs. This includes different types of rebates for Value Added, Fresh Pack and Berries. Assist in the maintenance of rebate payables, requiring verification of valid invoices and proper signature authorization as assigned.
  • Prepare and maintain sales and marketing accruals for customer contracted programs.
  • Maintain models/systems for marketing/innovation spend tracking and reporting.
  • Code and obtain proper signatures for estimates and submission of invoices to accounts payable.
  • Prepare audit schedules for both internal and external auditors.
  • Assist in Pricing related projects, in conjunction with the Value Added Pricing Analyst.
  • Consistently review accounting procedures and suggest ideas to improve processes.
  • Prepare various ad hoc accounting reports as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Job Specific Competencies (Knowledge, Skill and Experience Requirements)
  • 2-4 years accounting or finance experience.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), procedures and application.
  • Intermediate to Advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with JD Edwards software desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail and a desire to assume new responsibilities.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Finance Sales and Marketing team, A/R and Collections, and Sales.
  • Customers and brokers.
Education and Certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk or hear.

The employee must occasionally lift (including overhead) and/or up to 15 lbs.

Work Hour & Travel Requirements

Ability to work beyond the normal work hours during period close week and final weeks of the budget cycle if required.
