ARCO in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Staff Accountant to support month-end close, budgeting, and financial reporting for multiple entities. You will work closely with the Controller and cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy and timely insights.

• Process expense report postings daily.
• Assist in intercompany cash reconciliations bi-weekly.
• Support ad hoc reporting for stakeholders.

We are looking for a dynamic Staff Accountant to join our team in our Kansas City, MO office. You will work closely with our Controller and many different teams.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

• Assist controller team in reconciling all month end reports to the general ledger.

• Assist in preparing and monitoring budgets.

• Design and build Microsoft Excel based pivot tables.

• Assist in reconciling bank accounts on a monthly basis

• Work positive pay exceptions daily

• Process expense report postings daily

• Assist in intercompany cash reconciliations on a bi-weekly basis

• Assist controller teams with a variety of ad hoc requests as they arise

• Assist in creating and verifying reporting provided quarterly to various stakeholders

• Work with controllers on various aspects of month end close and the preparation of financial statements for multiple entities.

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 1-3 years' of related experience.

• Public accounting experience a plus.

• General knowledge of payroll concepts and tax withholdings.

• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications, specifically needing advanced skills with Microsoft Excel.

• Experience with Viewpoint Software or an equivalent ERP system.

• Excellent written and spoken communication skills.

• Must be detail oriented and able to work under pressure and strict deadlines.
