Cherry Bekaert Recruiting & Staffing is partnering with a well-established Richmond area organization to recruit a Staff Accountant for its corporate accounting team. The hybrid role focuses on month-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting, and general ledger activities within a collaborative corporate environment.

This position offers exposure to a broad range of accounting functions, visibility across the finance organization, and opportunities for professional development and career

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2+ years of accounting experience.
• Corporate accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Understanding of GAAP and accounting fundamentals.
• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Workday, or similar.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries
• Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities
• Maintain accurate general ledger records
• Support financial reporting and management reporting requirements
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed
• Support audit requests and documentation preparation
• Identify process improvement opportunities and support accounting initiatives
