Job summary

Global Industrial Company in Port Washington, NY, is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage reconciliations, month-end close, and financial analysis. You will prepare journal entries, review balance sheets, and support internal controls.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance, 5 years of experience, strong Excel skills, GAAP knowledge, and the ability to work independently while multi-tasking on several projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5 years related accounting experience preferred.
• Excel proficiency with PivotTables and VLOOKUP.
• Strong GAAP knowledge.
• Experience with SAP, PCS, and BlackLine.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.

Responsibilities

• Prepare multiple account reconciliations using Blackline.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
• Post general ledger entries during month-end and quarter-end close.
• Handle fixed asset accounting including additions and deletions.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, match PO to invoices, and track payments.
• Analyze balance sheets and income statements.
• Identify cost reduction opportunities and revenue enhancements.
• Participate in special projects as needed.

• Preparation of Multiple Account reconciliations, using Blackline Reconciliation tool.
• Preparation of Monthly Bank Reconciliations.
• General Ledger Preparing/Posting various Standard/Accrual Journal entries, during Month-end and Quarter-end close.
• Ability to Multi-Task on various opportunities within department.
• Fixed Asset Accounting, including Additions, Deletions, Adjustments, for example, F90 accounting.
• Accounts Payable & Receivable experience: Processing invoices, matching purchase orders, and tracking payments.
• Financial reporting: Detailed Analysis of various Balance sheets and Income statements.
• Recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue.
• Special projects as needed.

Competencies and skills

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance. 5 yrs. related experience preferred.
• Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUPs etc.).
• Excellent oral and written interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., SAP/PCS/BlackLine), and a strong grasp of GAAP principles.
• Strong Analytical Skills. Ability to recommend and explore improvements.
• Ability to work independently. Take charge/can do attitude.
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
