We are currently seeking a Staff Accountant to support the Accounting, Tax, and Finance team through a variety of general accounting, financial reporting, tax compliance, and audit-related responsibilities. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and analytical accounting professional with strong technical accounting knowledge and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Key responsibilities include account reconciliations, financial analysis, fixed asset accounting, general ledger activity, month-end and year-end close support, and preparation of financial statements and tax-related workpapers.

This is a safety sensitive position requiring work on construction sites with various safety hazards inherent in heavy construction. This position is subject to drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for day-to-day general accounting activities.
  • Performing financial analyses and account reconciliations.
  • Maintaining fixed asset records and ledgers including setup, depreciation, and disposal.
  • Recording and posting general ledger entries, as necessary.
  • Supporting the Controller and Assistant Controller with month-end and year-end closing process including accurate and timely production of monthly financial and management reporting.
  • Assisting with tax compliance related to applicable statutory requirements, including but not limited to federal, state, and local income, real and personal property, franchise, value-added, sales/use and other taxes in all jurisdictions in which the Company operates.
  • Supporting the Controller and Assistant Controller with successful completion of external financial audits and tax return preparation, including timely preparation of workpapers, financial statements, and footnotes.
  • Responsible for closing entries and financial statement preparation of the company's partnerships.
  • Supporting the Controller and Assistant Controller by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing company policies and procedures.
Education:
  • Required: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
Experience:
  • Candidate should have 1-5 years of experience in the field of accounting/finance.
  • Experience in the construction industry is a plus.
  • CPA/MBA is a plus.
  • Experience with Viewpoint Vista construction software is a significant plus.
Physical Requirements:
  • Able to sit for extended periods while working at a computer performing routine office tasks.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. occasionally
  • Occasional standing, walking, bending, reaching, and carrying items
  • Must be able to perform simple grasping and fine manipulation tasks with both hands.
  • Must have acceptable corrected vision and hearing.
  • Ability to travel to project sites occasionally.
