Key Responsibilities Of The Staff Accountant
- Prepare monthly financial statements and budget-to-actual reporting for assigned entities
- Perform account reconciliations and analyze financial information to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Manage the full accounts payable process, including invoice processing, payment approvals, and vendor communications
- Coordinate accounts receivable activities, billing, collections, and account reconciliations
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Support annual financial audits by preparing schedules and working directly with external auditors
- Monitor budgets and assist with ongoing budget management activities
- Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies while maintaining strong internal controls
- Communicate professionally with clients and external stakeholders regarding financial matters
- Assist with special projects and continuous process improvements
Qualifications For The Staff Accountant
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
- 2–3 years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience with financial statement preparation, reconciliations, AP, AR, and month-end close
- Knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Government, fund accounting, professional services, or public accounting experience is a plus
- Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements
