The University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Finance team and support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. You will perform journal entries, reconcile accounts, and assist with audit and tax support, using Banner and Treasury Management tools.
After a training period, this on-site role may offer up to two remote work days per week. A Bachelor's degree and 1–2 years of experience are required. CPA or higher degree is a plus.

Responsibilities for the staff accountant position include performing a variety of account reconciliations on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, providing fiscal year‑end audit and tax preparation support and managing daily incoming cash. Specific duties include journal entry preparation and review, posting daily cash received, non‑grant restricted fund set‑up, oversight and support to campus, utilizing Treasury Management software to ensure auto‑posting is functioning optimally, and maintenance of orderly files and workpapers which provide an audit trail and assisting departments in understanding accounting procedures and the Banner financial system.
After an initial 3‑6 month training period, this position would be eligible to participate in the University’s remote work program, which provides for up to 2 days of remote work per week.
Pay range: $58,000, commensurate with experience.
