Job summary

LHH is assisting a growing manufacturing company in the Raleigh area to find an Accountant to join the finance team. This role focuses on financial reporting, month-end close, and operational accounting to support manufacturing cost analysis and inventory control.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of driving process improvements while ensuring GAAP compliance. A bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of manufacturing experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environments.
• Understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, or similar platforms is a plus.
• Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookups.

Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
• Assist with inventory accounting, inventory reconciliations, and manufacturing cost analysis.
• Prepare and file sales and use tax returns.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities.
• Review vendor invoices and assist with accounts payable processes.
• Monitor cash flow and identify unusual transactions or trends.
• Partner with operations and production teams to improve financial controls and reporting.
• Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
