A high-end restaurant group is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing team. We are a dynamic and expanding restaurant group with a portfolio of diverse and popular concepts. This position is an on-site role, located at the Corporate office in Midtown Manhattan.

About the Role:

The Staff Accountant will be an integral part of our finance department, responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and assisting with various accounting functions. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Prepare journal entries, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements.
• Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Support the month-end and year-end close processes.
• Assist with inventory reconciliation and cost analysis.
• Prepare and file sales tax returns.
• Collaborate with restaurant managers to ensure accurate financials.
• Participate in special projects and ad-hoc analysis as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and company policies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within the restaurant or hospitality industry.
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Compeat, Restaurant 365) and Microsoft Excel.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with POS systems (e.g., Toast) is a plus.
