Job summary

Radius Packaging is seeking a Staff Accountant at our New Berlin, WI location. You’ll work with the Controller to understand production costs, inventory, budgeting, and profitability, gaining broad manufacturing finance experience beyond traditional accounting.

You’ll partner with Finance, Production, Operations, and Commercial teams to analyze cost drivers, support monthly reporting, and drive improvements in cost visibility and efficiency in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1–5 years accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment or auditing manufacturing cost accounting practices.
• Working knowledge of accounting principles, inventory, cost accounting, and manufacturing processes.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with GAAP reporting systems.
• ERP experience preferred; IQMS or Oracle experience is a plus.
• Experience with BI or reporting tools such as Tableau, Salesforce, or Power BI is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to organize priorities, meet deadlines, and take ownership of your work.
• Strong communication skills and ability to translate accounting concepts for non‑financial teammates.
• Collaborative mindset and interest in understanding how operations work, not just the numbers

Responsibilities

• Analyze production, material, labor, and overhead costs and turn data into insights for management.
• Support monthly and annual financial reporting (COGS, inventory, and WIP).
• Perform actual-to-standard cost variance analysis and identify cost improvement opportunities.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, pricing analysis, and project cost tracking.
• Maintain records for raw materials, WIP, finished goods, capital projects, and fixed assets.
• Reconcile inventory and cost-related GL accounts and assist month-end close.
• Coordinate physical inventory counts, investigate discrepancies, and strengthen controls.
• Prepare audit workpapers and support external auditors with cost, inventory, and production data.
• Partner across Production, Operations, Commercial, and Finance to explain results and improve visibility.
• Help improve cost accounting systems, standards, processes, controls, and reporting tools.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
• Maintain GAAP compliance, GMP, food safety, and quality requirements.

Radius Packaging is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Finance team at our New Berlin, WI location. Reporting to the Controller, you’ll gain hands‑on exposure to cost accounting, inventory, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and operational analysis in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

This role works closely with Finance, Production, Operations, and Commercial teams, giving you the opportunity to understand what drives manufacturing performance, turn financial data into meaningful insights, and help identify opportunities to improve cost, efficiency, and profitability.

What You’ll Do

• Analyze production, material, labor, and overhead costs and turn the data into meaningful insights for management.
• Support monthly and annual financial reporting, including COGS, inventory, and work-in-progress (WIP) analysis.
• Perform actual-to-standard cost variance analysis and help identify opportunities to improve cost and profitability.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, pricing analysis, and project cost tracking.
• Maintain accurate accounting records for raw materials, WIP, finished goods, capital projects, and fixed assets.
• Reconcile inventory and cost-related general ledger accounts and support month‑end close activities, including bank and account reconciliations.
• Coordinate and support physical inventory counts, investigate discrepancies, and strengthen inventory controls.
• Prepare audit workpapers and documentation and support external auditors with manufacturing cost, inventory, and production-related information.
• Partner across Production, Operations, Commercial, and Finance to explain financial results and improve cost visibility.
• Help improve cost accounting systems, standards, processes, controls, and reporting tools.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives designed to reduce waste, standardize processes, and improve financial and operational efficiency.
• Maintain compliance with GAAP, company policies, GMP, food safety, and food quality requirements.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1–5 years of accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment, or experience auditing manufacturing companies and their cost accounting practices.
• Working knowledge of accounting principles, inventory, cost accounting, and manufacturing processes.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience using accounting or financial systems that support GAAP reporting.
• ERP experience preferred; IQMS or Oracle experience is a plus.
• Experience with business intelligence or reporting tools such as Tableau, Salesforce, or Power BI is a plus.
