Job Summary

Responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the integrity of the organization's accounting and financial reporting processes. This position prepares timely and accurate month-end journal entries, financial statements, and account reconciliations while assisting with year-end close, audits, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. The role supports organizational decision-making by providing reliable financial information and identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

An employee in this position may be called upon to perform any or all of the following duties:

  • Record, review, and verify day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and credit card activity, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Prepare and post month-end journal entries and perform timely and accurate balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Reconcile revenue, receivable, and related accounts on a monthly basis for Dental, Pharmacy, Vision, and Medical service lines to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Perform monthly cash reconciliations and monitor cash activity to ensure account balances agree with supporting documentation.
  • Prepare, update, and maintain monthly financial, operational, and productivity dashboards to support management reporting.
  • Compile, analyze, and distribute monthly encounter and productivity reports for senior leadership.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Support annual financial audits by preparing requested documentation, schedules, reconciliations, and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Assist with the development of annual budgets, cash flow forecasts, financial projections, and variance analyses.
  • Research, recommend, and implement process improvements that enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness of accounting and finance operations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting principles, internal controls, organizational policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with department leaders and other stakeholders to provide financial information and analysis as needed for operational decision-making.
  • Participate in department, management, and company-wide meetings as required.
  • Perform other duties, special projects, and responsibilities as assigned.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Full-time, exempt position. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required based on operational needs.

Travel

Travel between health center sites may be required.

Credentials and Experience

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • 3 or more years' experience in healthcare financial management.

Physical Demands

  • Finger dexterity: Picking, pinching, typing, or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.
  • Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
  • Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discrimination in sound.
  • Reaching: Frequently required to reach with hands and arms forward and above the head.
  • Mental Acuity: Ability to make rational decisions through sound logic and deductive processes.
  • Speaking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word including the ability to convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately and concisely.
  • Visual Acuity: Must have sufficient visual acuity to perform tasks such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing information, viewing a computer screen, and conducting extensive reading. Requires visual abilities including close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

This position requires sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods. It may involve working under stressful conditions or irregular hours. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common in a clinical environment may occur.
