• Book accruals as needed for month and year-end close.
• Accounts payable and receivable duties may be assigned as needed for team coverage.

Staff Accountant

Full Time Professional Mesa - Corporate, Mesa, AZ, US

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the organization’s accounting operations through general ledger reconciliation, month-end close activities, and financial analysis. This role assists with preparing journal entries, reconciling bank and general ledger accounts, analyzing expenses, and preparing reports to ensure accurate financial records. The position also supports cost data collection related to operational activities and may assist with accounts receivable and accounts payable functions. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for the review and reconciliation of General Ledger Accounts and bank accounts.

SKILLS AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS

• Proven accounting experience and a working knowledge of QuickBooks Online (or equivalent financial system).
• Solid understanding of GAAP fundamentals related to AP, payroll, and accruals.
• Possess a control-oriented mindset.
• Comfortable working cross-functionally with Human Resources, Program Management, Operations, and Maintenance personnel.
• Ability to manage volume without sacrificing accuracy.
• Demonstrate strong judgment when handling confidential and sensitive information.
• Ability to work independently and within a team while demonstrating sound judgment and attention to detail.
• Proficient in the English language with effective communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Must demonstrate safe and healthy workplace practices.
• Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Must be able to travel within the US and internationally.
• Must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities of a Staff Accountant in daily work performance.
