Job summary

CFS in Nottingham, MD is seeking a Staff Accountant with 2+ years of full-cycle accounting to help with the monthly close, journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting. You will gain exposure to cash flow analysis and work alongside an exceptional Controller who is committed to mentoring and developing talent.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• 2+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and month-end close activities.
• Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and lookup functions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
• NetSuite experience is strongly preferred.
• Desire to grow professionally and take on increasing responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the monthly close process, including account reconciliations and analytical review.
• Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules.
• Reconcile and monitor daily cash activity.
• Support cash flow analysis and reporting.
• Prepare operational and financial reports for management.
• Assist with fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules.
• Participate in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.
• Help improve accounting processes and identify efficiencies.
• Work closely with operational teams to support business initiatives.
• Assist with audits, budgeting, forecasting, and other accounting projects as needed.
