Job summary

The Staff Accountant in Independence, OH offers a hybrid schedule and hands-on exposure to inventory, cost accounting, and manufacturing finance. You'll support daily accounting operations, balance sheet reconciliations, and month-end close in a dynamic production environment.

Collaborating with plant personnel and the accounting team, you’ll develop controls, assist with audits, and position yourself for future growth toward Senior or Cost Accountant roles within a rapidly expanding company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 1–3 years of accounting experience; manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Understanding of general accounting principles and month-end close.
• Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and formulas.

Responsibilities

• Perform inventory reconciliations, investigate variances, and support proper inventory valuation.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including prepaid inventory and accrued receipts.
• Assist with month-end close, journal entries, supporting schedules, and account analysis.
• Partner with operations and plant personnel to research and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Participate in internal audits, walkthroughs, documentation, and control testing.
• Assist with fixed assets, depreciation schedules, AP/AR, and other general accounting functions.
• Support ad hoc financial analysis, special projects, and process improvement initiatives.

Position Overview

The Staff Accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations with a strong focus on inventory accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, month-end close, and manufacturing-related accounting activities.
