Legends Global is seeking a Staff Accountant for Reliant Park in Houston, TX. The role involves preparing event settlements, daily cash and ticket reports, and assisting in the month-end close within a fast-paced entertainment environment.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and up to three years of related experience, with solid MS Office skills and familiarity with accounting software.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in accounting or finance.
  • 0–3 years related experience in sports and entertainment industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Know and apply standard accounting principles, financial control procedures, computerized accounting systems/software.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare assigned event settlements while working with Sales, Event Services and Operations.
  • Prepare event flash reports for reporting and journal entry posting purposes.
  • Prepare and input entries to record daily cash reports and/or daily ticket collection reports.
  • Assist in monthly close process including reconciliations, analysis and journal entries.
  • Assist in AP batch entry review.
  • Maintain internal audit controls and participate in external audits.
  • Assist with exhibitor services event audits as needed.
  • Run reports through online ordering system software.
  • Assist with inquiries and research discrepancies.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Summary Legends Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Staff Accountant at Reliant Park in Houston, Texas. Reliant Park is in the fast lane for opportunity and excitement. We are a one-of-a-kind premier facility with four major venues within one giant park. Reliant Center (one million+ sq. ft. Convention Center), Reliant Stadium (home of the Houston Texans and The Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo), Reliant Astrodome ("The" Astrodome), and Reliant Arena. We are seeking a unique Staff Accountant to join our team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare assigned event settlements while working closely with Sales, Event Services and Operations.
  • Prepare assigned event flash reports for reporting and journal entry posting purposes.
  • Prepare and input entries to record daily cash reports and/or daily ticket collection reports.
  • Assist in monthly close process including account reconciliations, analysis, and preparation of journal entries.
  • Assist in AP batch entry review.
  • Maintain internal audit controls and participate in external audits.
  • Assist with exhibitor services event audits as needed.
  • Run reports directly through online ordering system software.
  • Assist with inquiries and research discrepancies.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in accounting or finance.
  • Zero (0) to three (3) years related experience and/or training in the sports and entertainment industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills and Abilities
  • Good written and verbal skills.
  • Strong computer skills required.
  • Excellent customer service skills highly recommended.
Computer Skills
  • Operate a personal computer with Windows 10 using MS Office 365 Apps including Excel and Word and other standard office equipment.
  • Experience in an accounting software package is preferred; MS D365 and Boomer Software is a plus.
  • Strong foundation in Excel.
  • Experience with ABI timeclock system is a plus.
Other Qualifications
  • Ability to work extended and/or irregular hours that may vary due to functions, including day, evening, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
