Now Hiring: Staff Accountant ($30–$35/hr)

Reports to: Controller

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team. In this vital role, you will help ensure that financial records are maintained in alignment with GAAP and company policies. Your focus will be on the full cycle of accounts payable and receivable, revenue recognition, and financial reporting to support organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable

• Ensure timely and accurate invoice processing and staff reimbursements

• Prepare and post journal entries including accruals, amortization, and reclassifications

• Conduct account reconciliations and maintain general ledger entries

• Assist in monthly and year-end financial close processes

• Support audit preparation and respond to auditor inquiries

• Monitor sales tax, payroll tax, W2s, 1099s, and business/manufacturing licenses

• Track employee PTO and payroll analytics

• Assist in financial reporting, including budgets and interim grant reports

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Required)

• 6+ years of hands-on accounting/finance experience

• Strong command of GAAP and current accounting trends

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), QuickBooks, and SAP

• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

• Team-oriented, but capable of working independently with minimal supervision

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to sit for long periods, use hands frequently, and lift/move up to 20 pounds occasionally

Compensation

• Hourly Rate: $30.00 – $35.00, depending on experience and qualifications
