• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience with exposure to general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, journal entries, and balance sheet analysis.
• ERP systems experience; intermediate Excel skills including VLOOKUP and data reconciliation; QuickBooks and/or NetSuite preferred.
• Inventory accounting, job costing, manufacturing, construction, or other operational accounting experience required.

Position Overview

Ledgent Finance & Accounting’s client is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their team in Georgia. This position requires an individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and is eager to contribute to a range of accounting activities, from month-end close to inventory accounting.

Responsibilities

• Own and support month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and preparation of accurate financial reporting.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and research reconciling items to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
• Reconcile transactional data between operational systems and accounting systems, investigating and resolving discrepancies as needed.
• Assist with fixed asset accounting, including asset additions, disposals, and rollforward schedules.
• Support revenue and profitability analysis through detailed reconciliations and review of financial results.
• Monitor and maintain the integrity of general ledger activity across multiple operating entities.
• Collaborate with operations, payroll, and finance teams to resolve accounting issues and improve processes.
• Support inventory accounting activities, including inventory reconciliations, periodic counts, and understanding inventory flow through WIP and cost accounting processes.
• Utilize Excel to analyze, reconcile, and manipulate data from multiple systems and reporting sources.
• Contribute to process improvements and system transition initiatives, including ERP implementation and optimization efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience with exposure to general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, including financial statements, journal entries, and balance sheet account analysis.
• Experience with ERP systems and intermediate Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and data reconciliation functions; QuickBooks and/or NetSuite experience preferred.
