Job Title: Staff Accountant

Location: Hialeah, FL

Job Type: Temporary (Approx. 7-Month Assignment)

Reports To: VP of Finance

Start Date: ASAP

Position Overview

A reputable client in the construction industry is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join their team on a temporary basis to provide coverage during a leave of absence. The assignment is expected to last approximately seven months, with training provided by the current employee prior to their leave. The ideal candidate will have strong English communication skills (both written and verbal), and proficiency in relevant accounting systems and processes. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply, though it is not a requirement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Accounts Receivable (AR) department in client billing and aging schedule review
  • Assist in collection efforts and tracking lien and notice of non-payment dates
  • Review and help prepare lien notices for accuracy and timely filing
  • Support Accounts Payable (AP) with vendor issue resolution and payment processing as needed
  • Prepare and enter monthly journal entries
  • Maintain fixed asset records, including purchases, disposals, and exchanges
  • Review and upload Positive Pay files to the bank daily
  • Record affiliate bank deposits via remote deposit system
  • Reconcile all bank accounts regularly and accurately
  • Maintain and update debt covenant schedules for bank reporting
  • Assist in year-end closing and preparation of audit support documentation
  • Research and resolve accounting issues as they arise

Technical Skills (preferred, Not Required)

  • SAGE 300 CRE
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
