Cash-Wa Distributing, a Performance Food Group company, is seeking a Staff Accountant I in Fargo to support monthly close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting. This entry-level role offers hands-on experience and opportunities for growth within a growing organization.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will collaborate with operations and other departments to improve processes and ensure accurate financial information.

• Assist with month-end close activities and financial statement preparation
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end analyses
• Analyze financial data and investigate discrepancies
• Reconcile processed transactions by verifying entries and comparing system reports to account balances
• Maintain and support general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, and purchasing modules
• Organize and maintain accounting records and financial documentation in accordance with company policies
• Assist in developing and improving accounting processes, workflows, and efficiencies
• Support the timely and accurate distribution of financial information and reporting
• Partner with operations and other departments to support accounting and financial objectives
• Participate in audits, special projects, and other assignments as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Cash-Wa Distributing, a Performance Food Group (PFG) company, is a leading foodservice distributor serving customers throughout the Midwest. As our business continues to grow, we are investing in our Finance team and adding a Staff Accountant I to support our Fargo operation.

Due to continued business growth and the increasing needs of our Finance team, Cash-Wa Distributing is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant I to join our Fargo location. This newly added position provides an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career accounting professional to gain hands‑on experience in financial reporting, account reconciliations, month‑end close activities, and accounting process improvement while supporting a growing organization.

Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, this role will support the accounting operations of our Fargo division while developing the technical and analytical skills necessary for long‑term career growth within the organization.

What You'll Do

• Assist with month‑end close activities and financial statement preparation

Preferred Qualifications

• Internship, accounting clerk, bookkeeping, or related accounting experience
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Experience with ERP or accounting software systems
• Interest in pursuing professional certifications
