Job summary

Amp Americas is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its accounting team in Chicago. You will prepare journal entries, perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, and analyze financial statements.

You will regularly interact with the accounting/finance team and with Asset Management, Legal, and Operations teams. This role reports to the Controller and offers opportunities to contribute to RNG project reporting, budget vs actual analysis, and process improvements in a fast-growing energy

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 2+ years corporate accounting or audit experience preferred.
• Experience with multiple subsidiary organizations preferred.
• Experience with accounting for capital projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute daily and monthly accounting activities for assigned subsidiaries, including cash, receivables, prepaid expenses, fixed assets and accruals.
• Collaborate with Asset Managers to produce monthly financial reports for RNG projects, including budget vs actual analysis.
• Field and resolve inquiries from management, ownership, and external auditors.
• Assist with the implementation and optimization of accounting tools and special projects.

Position Summary

Amp Americas (Amp) seeks a motivated professionalaccountant to join its accounting team as a Staff Accountant. Responsibilities include preparation of journal entries, monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, and financial statement analysis. This position reports to the Controller and will regularly interact with the entire accounting/finance team, as well as with Asset Management, Legal, and Operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute daily and monthly accounting activities (e.g., recording journal entries, G/L account reconciliations, monthly close) for assigned subsidiary companies, including cash, accounts receivables, prepaid expenses, fixed assets and accruals
• Collaborate with Amp's Asset Managers to produce monthly financial reports for Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) projects, including budget vs actual analysis and insights
• Field and resolve inquiries from management, ownership, and external auditors
• Assist with the implementation and optimization of accounting tools and special projects

• Experience with accounting for capital projects (preferred)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team of professionals
• Aptitude for solving problems independently and an interest in alternative and renewable energy
