Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• 5+ years accounting experience, multi-location/manufacturing preferred.
• Prior supervisory experience required.
• Strong organization and multi-tasking in fast-paced environments.
• Budgeting, forecasting and trend analysis experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office and accounting systems.
• Manufacturing/recycling industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inventory review and accounting across multiple sites.
• Perform month-end close, financial statement review, and variance analysis.
• Review weekly performance and cost trend reports by location.
• Lead multi-location accounting operations and ensure process consistency.
• Identify cost reduction opportunities through data-driven analysis.
• Review weekly and production reports with managers and drive action plans.

• Develop and monitor budgets, perform trends analysis, resolve variances.

Description

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Accounting and Finance team supporting multiple recycling company locations. This individual will play a key role in managing inventory, analyzing financial performance, tracking costs, and partnering closely with Operations Managers to drive efficiency and profitability across locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee commodity inventory review and accounting management across multiple sites.
• Perform month-end closing, financial statement review, and variance analysis.
• Review weekly performance and cost trend reports for assigned locations.
• Lead multi-location, multi-state accounting operations and ensure consistency in processes.
• Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives through data-driven analysis.
• Review weekly reporting and production reporting with managers and establish action plans
• Conduct monthly operating reviews with Operations Managers; create and follow up on actionable financial improvement plans.
• Develop and monitor budgets, perform trending analysis, and resolve financial variances.
• Support special projects and cross-functional initiatives as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a multi-location or manufacturing/service environment.
• Prior supervisory experience required.
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
• Demonstrated experience with budgeting, forecasting, and trend analysis.
• Proficiency in MS Office (advanced Excel skills required) and accounting systems.
• Experience in the manufacturing, recycling, or related industries preferred.
